I
have spent my whole life involved exploring the relationship between the body,
mind, heart and spirit sheaths. Movement and the body/mind/
heart as an embodied practise of transformation has been the central thread of
my life tapestry. Initially my training as a dancer turned choreographer,
yoga teacher and Yoga Therapist, evolved into working for a decade as
the Movement Lecturer at the Drama School, UCT. I established the
Santa Sarana Yoga Centre in Hout Bay and was based there for 15
years, now living in the little village of Mcgregor where I have opened
the Stillness Centre. A few years ago I had the wonderful opportunity
of working closely with Donna Farhi, completing her intensive advanced
Teacher Training course in Wales and then worked as her assistant in Frankfurt
focusing on the fundamental importance of the SI (sacro-iliac) joint as
a basis for asana practise. Her ground breaking approach has informed much of
my work. Buddhism continues to be a powerful influence - having
been seeped in Buddhist practise and having done many retreats over the last 20
years with very fine teachers - with much gratitude to Thanissara, Kittisaro
and Ringu Tulku. |
